If however, they came at 17 (hence the question in the 1st paragraph) that would be great. Lansky also has a minimum angle of 17 degrees and would not work on these anyway unless I wanted to reprofile them. I tried fitting the delica in the clamp and it will just not hold onto a ffg blade solidly. I've been practicing with both on a couple of cheap knives and I've had much better results on the Lansky, but I'm afraid to try it on my nice Spydies because I don't believe it would work. I have both a lansky 5 stone system plus ultra sapphire hone and the Sharpmaker plus ultrafine rods. Just in case some knives are different, the three I have are the standard delica 4 (vg-10), PM2 (s30v), and a Manix 2 (s110v in blurple g-10). Can anyone confirm the bevel angles that Spydercos leave the factory with? I believe Sal mentioned in the sharpmaker dvd that they were all made with 15 degrees and a 20 degree micro bevel but I was not sure if he meant all of them, or just the one he was using in the video.
